These free diaper cake instructions are for Tammy H's frog diaper cake that she submitted. She is from Kelowna, BC, Canada. Here is how she did it:free diaper cake instructions

BABY ITEMS:

Frog hooded towel
Green receiving blanket
5" stuffed Frog
12" stuffed Frog
Greenish Burp Pad
Frog Sock Rattles
(6) Standing Rubber Frogs
(6) Crouching Rubber frogs
Frog booties
(4) wash cloths (1- light green , 1- white, 2- dark green)
Frog Onesie
Kandoo Shampoo and 2 refills
Bobble Head Frog
(2) spoon

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

White mini cloths pins
Lilly pads (found at craft store)
(2) Different green colored curling ribbon
5/8" frog theme ribbon
1 1/2" green ribbon
Clear cellophane
Sm. Clear elastics
2 sided tape
Green foam sheet
Straight pins
Hot Glue Gun
String
Small Dowel

free diaper cake instructions1) Wrap tiers: bottom with frog hooded towel (make it so that the frogs are facing outwards), top tier with the receiving blanket.

2) 12" Frog. Tie each leg down to the top cardboard separately.

3) Tuck burp pad under frog topper, tuck in sides of burp pad between receiving blanket and diapers.

4) Wrap the 1 ½" green ribbon around the top tier.

5) 5" Frog. Sit it in the center - beneath the 12" on the ledge of the two tiers. Take 2-side tape and tape both the bottom of the frog and the back of the frog. If frog doesn't stay use a straight pin behind the frog.

6) Use two white cloths pins (found at craft store) clip both sock rattles on the top tier place them so that they don't touch the 5".

7) Using hooded towel as a visual aid, take one bootie and a cloths pin and clip it above the corner of the hooded towel… do the same to the opposite side with the other bootie.

8) 5/8" ribbon. Wrap around Kandoo bottle once you meet the beginning leave an extra 1cm. Dab Hot glue and join the ends together. (Do this with all the bottles)

free diaper cake instructions9) Take one refill bottle, first eye to see if both ribbons ~ 1 ½" and 5/8" meet when you place the bottle on the ledge of the two tiers. (adjust ) Make a small line of hot glue and connect the two ribbons together (Hold till it dries a little). You will do this with all bottles.

10) Take two green curling ribbons. Curl. Then take a small elastic put curled ribbon through both ends. Put elastic around the head of the Kandoo lid. (do this with all kandoo lids)

11) Fold and roll onesie. Make sure that the Frog symbol is showing in front. Secure with sm. Elastic on both sides. Add two different colors green curling ribbon to both sides and curl. Slide a piece of string through the two ribbons behind the onesie. Pull up a diaper in the middle of tier (enough so that you can put your fingers in), pull end of string through the elastic on the diaper and tie the string. Make sure to put the diaper back into place. The onesie will fall into place.

12) Take bobble head frog. Apply 2 sided tape to the bottom and sit it on the ledge of the tiers in the middle back of the cake.

13) (LILLY PAD) Take small dowel. Cut into 7". Sand both sides of dowel till smooth. Take one lilly pad, apply hot glue to the top of the dowel, press it to the back-center of the lilly pad, and hold it until dry. (make one more) Take one crouching frog. Use two sided tape and tape the bottom of the frog. Press the frog onto the center on the lilly pad. (make one more) Take the dark green wash cloth start at the 4" spot on the dowel and wrap the towel around till you get to the bottom of the lilly pad. Take several sm. Elastics, randomly secure the towel to the dowel (remember lilly pad markings are not perfect that's why you randomly place the elastics) Stick lilly pads on both sides of the cake facing forward.

14) LOLLY POP. Cut clear cellophane approx 12" x 8" (better to have more then less), have elastic near by and green curling ribbon. Take white wash cloth fold it into four, do the same with the light green wash cloth. Roll not to tight yet not too loose the white wash cloth. Apply two sm. Elastics on the outside of the white wash cloths to hold it into place. (you will notice that there is a neat side and a not so neat side) place the rolled wash cloth at the end of the light green wash cloth (good side joining the good side of the green wash cloth) Roll the two together. (Hold) Take spoon place it on the back of not-so-neat side. Using 4 elastics cross elastics around the wash cloth and over the back of the spoon till the spoon is secured. Pick up cellophane, place wash cloth/spoon in middle of cellophane, gather rest of cellophane at the bottom of the wash cloth, secure with elastic, and decorate with curling ribbon. Place in front area to the right.

15) RUBBER FROGS. Take two and put the in the booties looking out. Rest put two sided tape on and place them randomly on the cake.

16) You will notice a hole just above the 5" frogs head. Either you can place a rubber frog there or take a foam sheet and write out something like I did. (People are immediately drawn to a hole so fill them if you can)
