Diaper Cake Instructions

Puppy Diaper Cake Instructions

Once again offering her free diaper cake instructions, is Tammy H, of Kelowna, BC, Canada.

Here are the diaper cake instructions, direct from the artist herself:
Pulled out all the stops for this one... well what do you expect when it's for my cousin who's been trying to have a child for years upon years. So this one I had to make EXTRA SPECIAL.
This one was a two person investment...meaning mom was the one who went out and bought everything she wanted on the cake. I was the creator (other words I had the most fun.)
As she went shopping (my gosh did she go shopping) I was doing several sketches of how I wanted the cake to look. COURSE that all changed once I saw all she bought. This one was going to be LOADED.
Because this was going to be SPECIAL I wanted everything made, this meant NO TEDDY BEAR, I was going to make the TOPPER. YES the topper is a pound puppy made of diapers, wash cloths, bib, diaper pins, infant socks, other items, and LOVE. I spent half a day working on the pound puppy wanting it to be PERFECT. This made it so that NOW the cake's theme was puppies.

The name of the soon-to-be baby's name is "Kohen" therefore the rest of the day I invested in first making a stencil of his name, stencils of paw prints, and diaper pins. Then cutting each of these out of foamie... I must have cut out about 50 paw prints. Finally rolling diapers.
Third day, attaching paw prints 1" from each other, Kohen's name above with the diaper pins separating the continuing of Kohen. Once this was done I was about to stand back, plan my attack, and start creating.

First start with covering the tiers with one with a plush blanket (hey he's going to be an Albertain not exactly warm there), and the next, a receiving blanket. I start from the bottom and work my way up. Because the theme is "Puppy" the cap and sock rattles were eye catching therefore I placed them directly in front (securing with straight pins) Bottom tier also had paw print scratch mitts, puppy pacifier holder, puppy socks, Puppy T-shirt, Penaten cream, travel size baby powder, key teether toy, and another pair of socks.

Second tier... (2) receiving blankets, sleeper, (2) wash cloths made into lollypops, pacifier and clip, wrist rattles, pedicure set, plush kicker toy, vibrating teether, cowboy boots booties, travel size shampoo, oil, Penaten cream, and teething ring. (hidden inside = 4 sleepers, 2 receiving blankets, 2 t-shirts, and 2 long john sleepers.)

Must not forget mom-to-be... I made a chocolate bar wrapper and wrapped up her favorite chocolate bar. On the back it says... nutrition value "10 little fingers, 10 little toes, 2 beautiful eyes, and one button nose. Serving amount: Hugs and kisses 100%, cuddles 100%, snuggles 100%, sleepless Nights 100%"

This was FUN to make... still waiting for the little man to arrive any day now!
